Fun Facts

Coffee all day (and sometimes night) long. Dark roast with half and half, it is my last vice.

It is too hard to pick a favorite! I love everything from 90’s Hip Hop to to Noah Kahan to Ani DiFranco.

What’s one hobby you enjoy outside of therapy?

I love to cook. I can be creative and focused on what I am doing rather than be in my head about other things.

What’s a small thing that instantly makes your day better?

In a perfect world going for a walk in the sun by the Ocean, but typically doing some good stretching and taking deep breaths.

What is your ideal Saturday?

Getting to sleep in a little bit, going out for breakfast someplace local with my kids and ending the day with a fire pit.

I’m Amanda Harmon, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience supporting adults through the complicated, messy, and sometimes overwhelming parts of life. I work with clients navigating midlife, relationships, perimenopause, anxiety, relationships, parenthood, fertility and pregnancy, life transitions, executive functioning challenges, and the pressure that often comes with trying to manage everything at once.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked in outpatient mental health, schools, higher education, nonprofit settings, and private practice. For nearly 15 years, I have maintained a private practice serving clients throughout Fairfield County and beyond. I currently offer in-person therapy in Trumbull and Greenwich, Connecticut, as well as telehealth for clients in Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island, and Florida.

My style as a therapist is warm, direct, relational, and individualized. I believe therapy works best when you have a space where you can be honest, feel understood, and show up as yourself. We’ll work together to understand what isn’t working, recognize what you need, and make changes that feel meaningful and realistic for your life.

Throughout my career, I've worked in outpatient clinics, schools, higher education and nonprofits, gaining valuable experience in supporting individuals and families through various challenges. I have taken specialized trainings in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, infertility, and in working with the LGBTQIA+ Community.

My approach utilizes many different therapeutic styles, but most importantly, relationship, warmth and humor. I work with my clients and create a space tailored around each person's individual needs and values. Together, we’ll focus on building resilience, finding balance, and supporting your well-being.

Being here doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you’re strong.

PLEASE HEAR ME WHEN I SAY:

Taking the first step is always the hardest, but I am here to help you take it.

How I work

At the core of my approach to therapy is everyone needs to be seen and heard.

Having a nonjudgemental and supportive space to be yourself and feel heard, seen, validated and supported can be crucial to balancing the things outside of therapy. You cannot keep pouring from an empty cup…fill yours, let’s figure out how.
